in truth what we see today in the church is a lack of preaching the truth,
But Jesus never intended for the Church to be fearful in dealing with Satan.
because Deliverance is the ministry of the church
Discerning of spirits, casting out devils, rebuking Satan and taking authority over his power in the lives of man and women is as much a part of the work of the ministry as preaching, teaching or healing the sick.
Jesus ministry was a deliverance ministry.
He came to earth to destroy the works of the devil
1 John 3:8
for this purpose the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil
Jesus was anointed by the holy spirit and sent by God to set men free from the power and dominion of Satan.
Jesus began His ministry, He stood up in the synagogue and read from Isaiah concerning the promised Messiah:
Luke 4:18-19
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord
Jesus knew why he had come.
He had come to deliver
set at liberty
to release
all those who had been held captive by Satan
peter said concerning Jesus
Acts 10:36-38
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Ju-dae’a, and began from Gal’i-lee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God Anointed Jesus of Naz’a-reth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about going good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for GOD WAS WITH HIM.
SO
Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit to heal
TO DELIVER
TO SET FREE
ALL THOSE OPPRESSED BY THE DEVIL.
Jesus was sent by God and was anointed and empowered by God to destroy the works of the devil.
After Jesus had finished reading the words of the prophet Isaiah concerning the promised Redeemer, He handed the Scroll back to the minister in charge and set down.
Luke 4:21
Them, with every eye upon Him, He said, “This day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears”
